Born to jeweler parents in South America, jewelry artist Vanessa Mellet had an early interest in artistic design and adornment. Today, she handcrafts jewelry from her California studio, still inspired by the vivid colors, traditional costumes, and natural surroundings of her formative years. Her work embodies a romantic view of life, influenced by organic forms of nature while retaining a style of modern bohemian chic. Working with solid silver castings of her own design, she intricately adorns the Upscale Bohemian Chandelier Earrings with sterling silver droplets and natural gemstones. A 12-mm briolette of faceted pink amethyst (Rose de france) anchors the elegant design, accented with dangling freshwater-cultured pearls of dyed light pink, glass enamel of purple, and a central stone of shining pink amethyst (Rose de france). Measures approx. 2" with sterling silver fishhooks. Color Note: although the common term for the Rose de france stone is 'pink amethyst', the stone generally has a color tone of light purple/lavender/lilac.
