The icing on the cake is that it sets itself to the right time. I just put a battery in it and the hands moved round a rotation, then it sat for a few minutes then set itself to the correct time. My mum was delighted and asked why all clocks were not like this, I didn't have an easy answer other than saying cost, but to be honest it was not that much dearer. The clock was of a good construction, not too heavy that you need an anchor on the wall just a small screw and maybe a wall plug if you are in a hollow wall. I'd recommend it for anyone who wants a clock that is accurate and doesn't need the internet, one thing to point out is that it does tick but that is the nature of a second hand and it was not advertised as silent. Believe it or not I have about 14 radio controlled clocks in the house and my garden. I have only had trouble with one of them which only went for a few days on a new battery but the supplier in this country replaced it without argument. I hate to say if it is out of warranty it would cost probably more than a new one to get it repaired so I would be inclined to just bin it. Don’t give up because I think they are great. Very very accurate, silent and of course you don’t have to change the time twice a year when the clocks change which is a bind as far as I am concerned. Maybe think about getting one powered by electricity instead of battery although the cable might be a problem for you. I do have some which are electric. They are probably made to a better standard because you don’t want an electric clock which might catch fire. It worked as you would hope straight from the box. Whilst it is smaller than the one I am replacing in the Kitchen, it is easy to read and the bonus is not having to change the time when the clocks go back and forth which is what prompted me to buy a R/C clock. I have deducted a star because the Chrome casing had damage on it when it arrived! The only question now is do I live with it or send it back for a replacement?!
