The durable, stainless steel head is oversized for larger fish and sheet pans full of veggies or French fries, and the soft handle provides for a comfortable grip. Dishwasher safe.

We still have the prior one, but the handle material has degraded over time after frequent runs through the dishwasher. We sometimes use a high-heat “sanitary mode,” so perhaps others have not had this issue, but the handle on ours has become “tacky” over time — a sign the plastic is degrading. But it’s become such an indispensable tool in our kitchen that we had to get another one, which will be hand-washed going forward. These aren’t just for fish, although I used it on the sockeye salmon last night and it was of course perfect. But this kind of thin, flexible spatula works well with anything you’re cooking in a pan that needs flipping, turning, or manipulating, whether you’re browning ground beef for chili or turning steaks. I don’t really see the point of the short, fat style for most of what we cook — this fish flipper style slides under food easily and is wide enough and “springy” enough to lift a T-bone or an omelet.
