The GN 2325 ends in a quick disconnect and still needs a lower cord to phone , usb or amplifier to work. **Q: Hello, does anyone know is this unit works with a traditional phone (rj)? also, does the speaker reduce background noise and mic noise cancelling? thx** A: I believe the headset will work with traditional phones, but you have to be careful to also purchase the correct jack adapter. It's a two part purchase. I purchased the headset and jack adapter specific to Cisco IP phones. As far as noise reduction is concerned, it meets my needs very well. It still allows for some minimal sound to come through, which I prefer so that I am aware of what is going on around me, but nearly eliminates all background noise for a clear and comfortable conversation. Also, the party at the other end can hear me clearly without background noise interfering. The headset is very confortable for long conversations.
