Saves lots of time/energy when you have a lot to plant. I have very hard, heavy clay soil and digging all the holes for my annuals and veggies used to take me days. With this auger I dug 60 holes for my sunflowers in 6 minutes! It's holding up well too and it's gotten a lot of use so far. Definitely keep your drill on the low setting because if you hit a big root it can get stuck and turn your wrist.I bought a few new garden tools this year that we're more of a splurge and this is my second favorite behind my nisaku garden knife.
