I had enough diapers to last about a week. Every Sunday I would empty the bucket liquid and all into the washer and put it on spin. Then I would wash the diapers with 1/2 vinegar and 1/2 detergent. Then I would wash the diapers again with detergent and dry them as normal without fabric softener. My diaper bucket never smelled as I used vinegar.
