There was a wire for the doorbell outside, but not one to power the doorbell. I was very disappointed. So I went looking for a doorbell that was battery powered for wired doorbells. There is not a lot of choice. This was one of the few affordable options, because I was not going to run a wire to power this stupid thing.There are some annoying bad parts. That being these require 4 C batteries. The other bad part that I think someone else had mentioned, the contacts for the batteries are flimsy. They don't really hold the batteries in place.... that's what duct tape is for my friends.I replaced the old one over the door with this new one over the door and hope the batteries don't pop out and kill someone.Why 5 stars?
