My angled frame tube below my handlebars where I need to attach the cables is 1 1/8" diameter. From the product description, it was clear these were for 1" tubes, but I figured if I spread the clamp a little it should work on a slightly larger tube. WRONG! I could spread the clamp, but the included screws are only 10mm (3/8") long, so they are too short to attach the guide if you are installing on anything larger then 25.4mm (1") tube. To make these work, I tried longer screws. But then I discovered the narrow design of the clamp does not grip tight enough on the bike tube to secure the cable housing so shifters work correctly. So I removed these and reconfigured 2 hose clamps I had in my shop to do the job. I returned these because they won't work for me as is. Bottom line, only use these as cable GUIDES and not for securing cables with housings to properly work shifters. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Perfect for my use on a 1976 Murray Monterey restoration *by R***T on Reviewed in the United States on July 22, 2021* Nice quality stainless clips with stainless hardware. A far better look than zip ties on a circa 1976 Murray Monterey restoration that I just completed when these clips arrived today. Old bikes just need time, a little mechanical help and a few bucks to avoid the scrap heap. Fix it, don’t trash it.The hex nuts are 5.5mm (or 7/32 SAE) and the hex bolts take a 2.5mm hex wrench. They fit my retro ‘76 one inch bike frame tubing perfectly so as long as you get the sizing right and have the right tools for install, these little clips are a home run.
