I mainly got it for a project guitar to tinker with. I bought this SSH Loaded Prewired Pickguard Set Alnico Dual Rail Humbucker for Fender Strat ST Electric Guitar Replacement - so as to replace the one that came on my guitar. After an hour of setting it up and grounding it properly... I plugged it in and the true tone of my cheap fender copy came through. I thought the pickups would sound cheap but they are surprisingly warm and very punchy. The sustain on my cheap guitar... not so good... but the sound itself through my amp... divine. When I run these pickups through my DOD Gunslinger... WOW ! The humbucker make it sound like a Gibson. Very rich and gutsy output. I'm impressed. For the price it was worth it. Now my cheap guitar sounds like a better more expensive cheap guitar. Altogether... I now have 3 guitars with distinct tones and that gives me alternatives when I want to record music. The best part is the cheap guitar sounds good enough to do what I want it to do. I'm always searching for that unique sound that no one else has. For me... it's all about combinations. The screw holes on this product may not align with every fender copy hole. That was the case with mine. No biggie. My guitar is finished and I recommend this product to folks who know what they are doing. It's a good deal. Everything works fine... the wiring is fine. First off … it is Beautiful and honestly sounds Excellent . I was surprised cause I have lots of guitars and I usually spend 200 and up for great Loaded pickguards from other venders .. but this guitar didn't warranty the cost , however after straightening the neck and doing the intonation , with these loaded Alnico's its an absolutely gorgeous guitar now, plays and sounds incredible ..
