The tiles are very, very slightly shorter than the sets my friends have from the National Mahjong League and they are just a little tiny bit lighter. They still feel good in the hand and not in any way cheap. Naturally I dropped one on the tile floor where we were playing, but it stood up to the abuse very well. The designs on the tiles are bold and the blue color is especially very striking. The wooden case and racks are very well made as are the interior boxes. This product arrived promptly and was well packaged.
