Review: Awesome! - Written after approx 1 month of use: This was one of the best "impulse" purchases I have ever made. A friend who does serious amounts of running has the previous generation of these headphones (the Air) and suggested I try them after my assertion that I couldn't be bothered to listen to music during runs since in-ear headphones nearly always fall out of my ears and there was no way I'd be running with my massive over-ear noise cancelling headphones. I thought the Air was good but decided to opt for the next-gen Aeropex on a whim and I have not been disappointed. *Sound Quality* The vibration I noticed with the Air has significantly reduced to the point where I think you would have to be really looking out for it to notice, even at higher volumes. Sounds quality is incredibly good given you're wearing headphones for which a selling point is the fact they don't block out other environmental sounds (this also means you're going to be subject to external noise pollution to go with your music wherever you are). Base quality is better than with the Air but does seem to be the most sensitive part of the sonic range to positioning from my experiences so far. If you use the included ear plugs the base level shoots up noticeably (even to the point of arguably dominating the treble) but this isn't something you're likely to want to do out on a run. I don't personally regard the base levels as an issue, and I think it's a little unfair to start applying audiophile comparisons to a product which is designed to let you hear what else is going on around you, but I'm including the comments for completeness nonetheless. *Fit/comfort/use running* I've run the equivalent of 4 marathons wearing these so far in a combination of longer runs and track-based interval sessions, along with using them in an office environment, and in all settings they have performed admirably. I've not noticed them running which is exactly the reason I bought them - the music is there with no other concerns such as having to put a fallen earphone back in, or adjusting the tightness of a belt etc. The headphones are really light which helps keep them barely noticeable. I sweat *a lot* and this hasn't been an issue with fit/comfort/ongoing operation. Changing volume on the go along with play/pause/track skip is very easy, even with sweaty hands. I've run wearing sunglasses at the same time as the headphones and there were no issues with fit/comfort. *Technical performance* I have noticed the bluetooth connection drop out a few times, mostly in busy city areas (e.g. Central London or Manhattan) where I suspect there's a lot of signal interference. In these situations I've had my phone in a pocket on the same side of my body as my running watch which is also connected via bluetooth. Taking the phone out of the pocket has always fixed things. When running I tend to keep the phone in a waist belt across my front, or in a pocket in a backpack, and have not experienced any connection issues in either scenario. Battery life hasn't been a concern and charging has been easy. I haven't attempted to charge straight after a run (noting the advice about needing dry contacts to charge) *Other* The included running belt is a nice-to-have, although after a month of use I've found that the elastic slips through the length adjustment buckle a bit too easily now meaning that I have to tighten it up whilst out on runs which gets annoying. Don't let this put you off buying the headphones however since they're worth every penny without the belt!
Review: At last I have earphones I can wear - I do not like ear pods which irritate ears. I will also not wear ear pods in public as they mask environmental sounds such as traffic for safety reasons. The AfterShoks mean that there is nothing poking into my ears. I can also hear environmental sounds and therefore I am not distracted. I can walk along the street listening to music, or talking to someone on the phone clearly and no embarrassment due to a huge set of earphones sticking off your head. It still is sound though and can distract you if not paying attention in the same way that you can play the radio in the car, talk to someone and drive at the same time. They were delivered well-presented with high-quality packaging, 2 charging leads (you just need the one) and a silicon pouch which I put the AfterShoks into with a charging cable. There are some soft ear plugs in a small plastic container also. They are extremely light and comfortable. They are also secure, so no worries about them falling off with any activity. Battery life is very long and a voice tells you if they get low. The voice is pleasant and not annoying. Pairing with devices was easy and trouble-free. They automatically link with my mobile and tells me that we are connected. I am yet to be able to listen to Siri on my iphone using them. But I can ask Siri to make a call, but there seems to be no voice prompt to ask "what do you wish?". But when the multi-function button is pressed, you ask to make a phone call and it does so. The sound quality is excellent. One point is that if you krank the volume up, it starts to vibrate and is uncomfortable such that you tone the volume down again, but usually that is because the sound is too loud and may be damaging anyway, so this is not a major negative. The music is more than loud enough for me without any problems if I wish. Noise cancelling works very well by putting soft ear-plugs in your ears. I am told this is fantastic on an aircraft when flying. I just took a call on my mobile using them. The music stopped, had a very clear conversation. On hanging up, the music started up again seamlessly. I've been looking for something like this for a long time for the above reasons and am very glad I bought them.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: How well do they work with a full face motorcycle helmet and earplugs?**
A: I do not think you can fit these under a full face motorcycle helmet. I recommend you to at least to try it out before buying, to avoid dissatpointment. They work great on a normal bicycle helmet, but a tight fitting full face helmet may be too small to fit these.

**Q: I only have useable hearing in one ear. Will these be suitable for me please?**
A: AfterShokz has a strong community of individuals with hearing loss.
While our headphones are not hearing aids, we do have customers who use our headphones to assist with hearing by pairing them to their phones and using an amplifier app. These apps use the mic on the phone to pick up surrounding sound, which is then transmitted through the headphones. The most popular app our customers use is Petralex.
As a sport headphone company, we don’t have the qualifications to determine whether our headphones will work for any particular individual, or improve the effects of any medical condition, but with a 30-day return window on all orders placed on our store, and plenty of retailers with in-store demos, we encourage you to give them a try

**Q: I have lost both magnetic charging cables for my aeroplex aftershokz. can anyone please link me to where i can buy a replacement set? please?!**
A: You can get them here, 2-pack for ~£10:
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000316012815.html

The seller here should sell a 2-pack for around this price, silly they’re not available at a reasonable price given they’ve gone with a proprietary cable instead of simple USB-C!

**Q: When will the other colours be available?**
A: The following is our latest plan:
Solar Red expects early August.
Lunar Grey expects early September.

*by C***T on 26 February 2021*

The audio quality on these are fantastic, and they are extremely lightweight and comfortable to wear BUT It has only been 6 months and my left ear has completely broken. I can hear something rattling around inside the casing, and there's no audio at all in that ear. For such expensive headphones I am absolutely appalled by the build quality, and for that reason I could never recommend these to anybody nor would I buy these again for myself
