Rejuvenated my aging PSP with a personalized touch
My old PSP 1000 was damaged recently after loaning it to a friend, so I decided that now was the time to try my hand at a replacement housing. After seeing the reviews, I decided to give this one a try, and I'm quite happy with my purchase. Prepare to go through some initial frustrations if this is your first time switching a PSP into a new housing-- I had to take the faceplate back off a few times before I got everything working just right, but the important thing is that it does work just right once you've done it all correctly. Some important pointers that will save you a few headaches:1) The function buttons (start, select, home, volume, etc) were not properly spaced, but I was able to make them fit correctly by cutting the strip in half (in the spot that ends up under the PSP logo).2) Keep your original L and R buttons if you can-- the replacement ones don't quite fit correctly.3) Use an exacto knife to shave off the "junk" on the buttons and D-pad-- they won't work properly if any excess plastic is getting in the way.4) Pay attention to which screws go where, and make sure you follow the instructions carefully! If you do the above, your PSP 1000 should come out looking factory-fresh, and it should work great too. I'm not sure if the plastic is as durable as the original, but if you are a responsible adult (or have responsible kids) you shouldn't have anything to worry about. Only the most scrutinizing eye will be able to tell the difference between this and an official case, and seeing an unconventional color will definitely have a special "wow" factor when your friends see it. If you're looking into replacing your PSP's case, then this is a very solid option. And since green is my favorite color, it fits me perfectly!

not very good
i bought this in order to clean up my old psp, i finally got the product and went on the site for the instructions and started working. i then reinstalled the screen back into the psp, and while it was open, powered it on with the battery to make sure all the cables where fine and i didn't miss anything. it powered on fine, all the buttons worked. so i turned it back off and finished the installation, i got to the part where i needed to place the button in the face plate, everything was fine it i noticed the media bar (the one below the screen) the one that came with the kit was not only miss-printed (the icons on them where off center) when i lay it in one side was a tiny bit too short causing the button on the other side to come up. i figured once there was some pressure holding it all in it would be fine, but after i got the it all screwed together, turns out that problem put extra pressure on the screen and cracked it on the bottom right hand side. so now i gotta buy a new screen wait for that to come, take it back apart, take those media bar buttons out and use the ones that came with my psp, (that now wont match the case). thanks for making me spend even more time and money because of a bad piece of plastic.

Looks great. But be aware the color is alot duller ...
Looks great. But be aware the color is alot duller than it looks in the picture. Thats what i get for wanting a bright lime green....ehh great quality for the buck. One other minor flaw the aluminum ring in the back of the umd tray wasn't glued on properly. But I have purchased 2 more cases for my shot up PSP 3000 and DSi. It isnt as big of a hassle to put it together. Just keep track of which screws go where. Thats the only problem I came across.

if you don't think you have the technical skill to install it then you don't
4 screws in the cover needed to be tapped and the R and L buttons could not be used but they were no different than stock. other than that it fit fine. Use youtube for instructions. If you have never taken apart electronics than this is not for you. The psp has to be completely disassembled and you have to disconnect tiny ribbon cables and tiny screws. Its very easy to mix up and lose screws. There are 3 different length and size silver screws that are hard to tell apart.

love the color thats all (not a happy camer)
i bought this case to give my psp new life. what it did was give me a headache . first off took forever to arrive. when i finally received my package , the install was going smoothly till i notice a crack (a major crack ) by where the analog stick would come thru that crack caused all my games ( meaning all games) to go to the left made all my games unplayable. and yes i do know what i was doing .since i figured it would be a hassle to get my money back i just decided to take the lost but to never order from them again ( even though it could've happen during shipping)

A suitable replacement, if you know what your doing.
Only issue I had with this product is the buttons that come with the case stick, and bind up. If you do decide to purchase this item, just make sure you're buying it for the case, and when you recieve it, throw the buttons away and re-use your old buttons from the case your swapping from.

Good replacement or upgrade for your PSP
After looking through the reviews for replacement shells for the PSP, I decided to order one anyway despite the relatively negative feedback about them. I have to say that I'm very happy with this particular shell. Although the process for moving the PSP from the old one to the new one can be time consuming and a bit frustrating, this shell works very well. There are a couple of small issues with fit and finish; in a few places there are very small gaps that show that the fit isn't as tight as the original. None of these, however, are deal breaks and I have had no problems playing games with it. If you're prepared for the amount of time and care needed to remove the motherboard, lcd screen, and umd drive from an old housing to a new one, this is a good way to refresh and old PSP and give it a unique look.
