The Art of Arthur Rackham: Celebrating 150 Years of the Great British Artist

Another great publication of Rackham’s illustrations !

This is a nice book to have if you're NOT that into art. It has a lot of pictures but they were blurry. Some were clear & some that were very fuzzy looking. I have collected previous art books (and at fair prices just as this one, which was why I bought it) except their pictures were very clear and they did show originals vs ones that's been copied to pass along. This book seem to have copies of copied photos. Again, it's nice but if you're looking for artbooks with clear pictures, this one may not be the best choice.

Beautiful! I bought it for my mother but it was quickly taken over by my father! We are big Rackham fans in my family and this is one of several books I purchased for my parents. They each are lovely, beautiful books!

Beautiful book! It is full of lots of information and illustrations.

I’m sure the kindle version is better, but I wanted the book. It’s very blurry and I was disappointed with how they didn’t put his best pieces in. I got a refund and bought a different book.

Foi uma decepção. Deveria ter levado em consideração as avaliações negativas. O livro é caro e a qualidade não atende nem de longe o preço. Às impressões são em baixa qualidade em papel que parece sulfite. Parece que o livro foi impresso em casa, encadernado e vendido. Não recomendo.

You would think that an artist of this standard would warrant a serious publication, which I thought I would get, considering the price was not cheap. The reproductions are only average and the paper is so thin the image from the previous page shows through. The British have let themselves down with this one, a shame they can’t honour their own artists with more respect. Notwithstanding, the artwork is brilliant and imaginative for its day.

Per un libro d'arte la riproduzione delle immagini è la prima preoccupazione - Nel nostro caso, quasi tutte le tavole non permettono di apprezzare l'arte di Arthur Rackham - Celebrare in questa maniera un artista è, soprattutto, rendergli un pessimo servizio - Non so bene che tecnica di stampa sia stata usata ma basta avvicinarsi ad una illustrazione per notare segni non omogenei e tratti mancanti - In ogni caso non c'è traccia di qualità e il prezzo non vale l'acquisto - Libro da dimenticare.

The publishers of this collection chose a vanity publisher of uneven quality for this important work, and the result is frustrating- some images are clear enough, but others look blurry and blown-out. Probably taken from scanned books, but certainly not from originals or good prints.

This book contains lots of Arthur Rackham’s art which is why I wanted it I love his artwork, although it would have been nicer if I could have afforded the hard cover, but I am still happy with it on my Kindle. Defiantly recommend.
