I needed a bulb for auto dimming motion sensor controlled exterior lantern fixture. This bulb is damp rated. As the bulb is installed base down like a typical table lamp as opposed to a ceiling fixture the placement of the led strips in this bulb throw the light right where it is needed.It has only been installed a few weeks but no problems yet. Many people buy this type of bulb for esthetic reasons but they are also really good for its light pattern (look at the placement/orientation of the light strips in the bulb and see where they would shine)I would think a ceiling fixture (screw in base up) would have more light directed to the ceiling so another bulb likely is best for that unless you want only reflected light.jay ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Bright and elegant *by T***G on Reviewed in the United States on November 18, 2020* This LED bulb has the feel of an Edison bulb.
