It makes wonderful coffee, quickly. I bought this coffee maker because I was looking for a coffee maker that did not contain plastic, and while this comes with a plastic coffee basket you can purchase a stainless basket for this machine, which I did. I’ve included the link below. I did not want to drink coffee every day with plastic leeching into the brew, so this was essential for me. This machine is built to last, it does not have auto shutoff or any fancy features, you can either get an outlet timer to auto shut if that’s what you are looking for. After reading the reviews, some people recommended getting a funnel tip for the stainless basket. ( it simply screws onto the bottom of coffee basket) I got the funnel tip, it was only about five dollars. It brews flavorful coffee each time, it is not weak it is a perfect pot of coffee. The coffee maker is on the large size, but fits under my kitchen cabinet. You fill the water from the top front of machine, so you just have to make sure this portion is not under the cabinet. Some reviews mention over flow issues, I have never had a problem once. I did buy the bunn coffee filters so of course they fit perfectly. Yes, some things must be purchased in addition to the machine, such as the coffee pot, and stainless basket if you want no plastic, but this machine seems like it will outlast any other coffee maker I’ve ever had. I know this brand, and this coffee maker is what they use in diners and they are made to last.
