They do squeak which is annoying but I'll put some powder, flour, corn starch or some lotion under the insert and I'm sure that will stop the sound. The width of the toe box isn't super wide like some clogs are. I would say that they remind me of Danskos in width. The opening is very wide though and you can see that in one of the photos a person shared. Fresh cut grass and garden soil will definitely get into these. If you're looking for a closer fit at the opening, these are not. Overall, these clogs remind me of my old Crocs with the marshmallow sole.
