These are comfortable boots right out of the box. Kept them loose on the first day to break them in and probably should not have since they did end up rubbing on my feet. The nylon upper is a bit noisy at first because it is a hard cloth. I expect that as they are worn that will change. I'm still undecided on the flat laces because they don't slide through the eyelets like cords and makes unlacing and lacing take longer, an time consumer I don't always have. I bought some cord laces to try for comparison to see which one works best for me. What attracted me to the boot is the lace to toe style which is not common in a combat /tactical boot but works well with my feet. The venting holes do allow the boot to breathe which will be welcome come hot weather. Bellville makes lasting issue combat boots, I'm curious to see how these wear over time. Price was better than other brands like Rocky C's. You might want a full size down. I measured my feet and I was 11 inches, from the tip of my big toe to the end of my heel, but these (size 11 N) feel big on the point, and they look too big also. Very quickly, the right boot developed a bad squeak which changing inserts did not help. It's loud enough that everyone notices when you walk down a hallway. Sounds like I'm stepping on a board. Can't really wear these for anything other than out in the field training.
