Horrible ingredients for an 'organic' food ...** A: First, Small Pet Select isn't "organic". I'm not sure where that idea came from. They do sell some organic herbal treats for guinea pigs and rabbits, but their pellets are mostly high quality timothy hay. They do not use the lower quality hay in their pellets that most companies use; it is the same hay they sell for guinea pigs, rabbits, and chinchillas to eat (75% of their diet should be good quality hay). The other ingredients (soy, wheat etc) are found in most brands of pellets, including Oxbow and others. They do have to have some sort of binder to make them into pellets. And Small Pet Select pellets are made in small batches which means they are very fresh. Most companies don't do that. IMO, these are great pellets. My animals love them. **Q: How does small pet select compare to oxbow? are they better, equal or worse than oxbow? thinking about switching to this brand.** A: Small Pet Select is far superior and cheaper than ANY other brand of hay & kibbles I have ever tried. "Superior AND cheaper" are not two words you usually see used together! I have been using Small Pet Select for more than 2 years now and have only had an issue once which was resolve right away. I received a box of hay that was not as fragrant as what I had usually received and my pigs would not eat it. They replaced the box without hesitation and I donated the box of hay they would not eat to my local shelter. The hay always arrives fresh; neatly & securely packaged with my bag of kibbles inside the hay box. There is no "waste" with the way they package. I store their hay in the box it comes in and it has always stayed fragrant and fresh til the last strand! Their kibbles come packaged in a high quality bag that easily reseals and keeps the kibbles fresh for months. I am on their auto-ship program therefore I do not pay for shipping and my same order of hay & kibbles comes every 8 weeks with auto draft from my account. They have also been very flexible with needing to change my auto-ship from 8 weeks to 10 weeks, etc. My pigs are VERY picky eaters and they devour both the hay & kibbles from Small Pet Select. I have 4 GP's and have had zero health issues with any of them for the years that I have been using Small Pet Select.
