Coming in a deluxe Ryumon wooden gift box, it features the Ryumon logo etched into it, this Tanto knife makes a great gift for collectors! The blade has been forged by hand from 10-folded and 1024 layers of 1065 high carbon steel. It features a blood groove, with a tempered blade that has the popular damascus etch look and hand sharpened under a traditional Japanese hand-sharpening process. The tsuka(handle) wrap is black japanese purpose silk and ray skin. The tsuba has high ammount of detail in the scale appearance of it. The saya (scabbard) has a red lacquered finish with a black purpose silk sageo. 17 inches overall with a 5.25 inch handle and a 10 inch blade.

sharp and beatiful
it is a high quality blade, perfect for tanto jutsu. very sharp, and beautiful. I would love to purchase a ryumon wakazashi and katana if they are available. I will be training with this heirloom quality blade for many years in my dojo, and my students will be wanting them as I have already had some want to purchase a similar blade. the case it came in was awesome, and makes for a great display. well worth the money and then some. homerun.

I actually bought this buy mistake.......... So glad I did it is a beautiful blade very solid ,light ,and sharp even the wood box it comes in is nice I recommend anyone with a love of Japanese culture and warfare .

it is a decent replica but do not try to clean the blade at all the "fold lines" will come off, they are not actual fold lines they are just oil or some other chemical put on the blade to make it look like folds.
