The audio was a little tin sounding, but otherwise a decent camera. **Q: No noise came over the monitor. luckily i woke up and pressed the screen to check the picture. was this vox mode? how do i know it’s on vox?** A: That sounds like Vox mode. It is essentially just a "sleep mode" it turns off the screen and makes it quiet. But it has a threshold (that i believe is adjustable) which turns the screen and audio back on when noise is loud enough. There is a light on the left side of the monitor that indicates when vox is on. It should be the second light from the bottom. We figured we would pay extra to get extra features! I really wanted a monitor that worked with the screen that came with it along with our phones so we could both watch him. I felt like just the phone we would go on other apps and miss something happening.. and with just the screen only one of us could watch him from one place in our huge house. So on prime day we paid $100 for this monitor which seemed like a good deal because it was $160 any other day.. well we got the first monitor and could not hook it up to our phones. I tried contacting support with no luck. So I decided to return it. But then changed my mind to exchange it and maybe it was just this one. Then we had the same issue with the new one.. finally support emailed me back and told me to completely disregard the instructions and gave me a step by step on how to set it up.. so now it works with our phones and the screen it came with. But only to about 50 feet... if that... supposed to be way more! 1000 I think..So all in all I'm not sure it was worth it and should have just went with a cheaper option :/ ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Versatile Viewing and Value *by M***G on Reviewed in the United States on July 19, 2019* I bought this monitor because it has a screen and the app for smartphone viewing away from the house. The camera and screen were very easy to set up and work fine, even in the dark. I don't think the temperature is very accurate and the picture isn't amazing but it definitely gets the job done fine, especially for the price. The mic and speaker feature work great. The app needs some updating. It is pretty buggy and finicky connecting to the camera and moving the camera from the app has a lot of lag. Turns out the trade off isn’t worth it, this thing disconnects so much I wish I’d never bought it.Original: Really wanted to like this monitor and am on the fence about returning. The range is really terrible at random times. Can be feet away from base and the monitor screen will disconnect, it’ll need to be turned on and off multiple times to reconnect to the base. I mainly got this monitor for the app and notification system to your phone with the addition of an extra monitor screen to use. Who knew finding that would be so difficult in the monitor world? We have a 5 acre lot and would like the extra phone app option.
