Review: Joint or Ligament Issues - Try this! - My rescue dog had surgery on her front joint below her hock because before we got her, she had broken or somehow injured her leg. It was never taken care of and her growth plates were damaged, she limped, and her ligament stretched (like a basset hound's would, where her wrist is almost touching the ground). When we first adopted her, we took her to UC Davis for an evaluation, which ended up costing us $1000 for a brace (molded specifically for my dog) on top of the PT visits. That brace was great, but only lasted a year and then broke. We wanted a new brace, but they redesigned it so that it wouldn't break after a year. The new design was crappola. It hurt my dog's leg, left it raw, on and on. But they washed their hands of us. We contacted UC Davis to see if we could find another brace-maker, but they too washed their hands of us with a departing email that "not all dogs can be helped." For the last 8 years my dog has had a neoprene brace that velcroes on, which does almost nothing. I was hesitant to buy another brace, but this one seems to do a good job. It's better than the neoprene-only brace for sure. It seems to provide more support, and there are two, so if one poops out, I have a spare :) I am pleased with this brace, and I would recommend to try it if your dog has ligament or joint issues in their front leg(s). I think the metal band inside the brace really does make a difference!
Review: Great pastern support - I have a Shepherd/husky that has extremely weak pasterns and I frequently worry about him injuring himself because he LOVES to run. He can run for miles on end without tiring so we bike frequently. I love that these are firm but flexible enough for his legs to still flex on their own but firm enough that his pasterns dont almost touch the ground. He trots like a Tennessee Walker with them on so it's going to take some time to get him use to them. They didn't slide down in the 30 min that he wore them around the house. The only thing that bothers me is that it presses his pastern pad into his leg. I'll update later after we take them on a bike run. Edit to add 11 April 2025 After several bike rides and some field runs I'm happy with how they work, now that I've figured out how they go on exactly. I think the first 2 times I put them on backwards, which may be why he was walking like a high-stepper. The fit is a little big, which I find surprizing since I think I ordered the M/L, I think I might have recieved the L/XL. I do have to be careful not to put them on too tight because of his pastern pad, it will cut off circulation and he starts to limp because it starts to go numb and tingly I assume. They do well for short distance rides. I'd say they're like walmart brand quality braces, ok but not fantastic.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Where you able to remove the springs as stated? I received a pair and ends are sewn shut and there does not appear to be any supports inside.**
A: Yes they were actually metal strips. They slid out very easily. I was actually looking for something a little stiffer to replace them with. I bought them for a lamb that had buckled knees. I put them on so the metal strip was at the front of the knee for more support. Worked very well and really helped the lamb.

**Q: What size for a Boston Terrier?**
A: Measure and follow sizing instructions provided- worked well for me.

**Q: Has anyone noticed hair loss or a red spot from this. I don't know if it's from the brace or if it's because she licks it? Is there anything I can do?**
A: No hair loss on my dog, I have a doberman. No red spots either. My boy licked his as well, it's typical with anything foreign to them. If you train your dog the leave it command it will help. It is a way to reassure them that it is ok to be there, you're the "alpha"

**Q: how much support do these give as my dog has really weak wrist**
A: I used it on my dog but it got loose and kept slipping off his leg well he was I'm the yard I think these need more support on the sides as well because they were more flexible than firm for my dog so I don't muse them anymore
