My plants thrived and the 3 modes for day, dawn/dusk, and night are spot on. I had some issues with the plug-in but that may very well be due to the cheap extension cord I was using. The lack of instructions or ability to program a timer setting or different color combos and scenes is a letdown, but overall this light has worked great for me for nearly a year. I'm upgrading my turtle to a 40 gallon and for cost:quality I'm definitely considering buying another of these. I was a little concerned with no reviews to refer to but decided to try it anyway. The idea of the remote control and adjustable lighting caught my eye. I have never been happier with a purchase. The light is just perfect. My tank looks so much better with this light it is just unbeliveable. The ability to have 3 choices of lighting and the ability to vary the intensity of that light makes it perfect for what ever natural lighting your aquarium is in. The remote control works very well once you get the eye pointed properly. My only concern is durability.
