We read it and then she hands it to us to read it again. We got this just before going on a trip that involved a ridiculously long plane trip. I think everyone within hearing radius of us on the plane could recite this book , given that we read it about 150 times! It's short and cute and basically just introduces the concepts of quarks, nucleus (of an atom), atoms and molecules. My four year old has already memorized it and loves to "read" it to his sister. We have some other (fill in the blank) for babies type books, but a lot of them are actually for older kids, this is actually for babies and gets my baby's stamp (or drool) of approval! Review: Great pictures & detail - Edit: baby is 19 months and brings this book to me to read. He turns the pages and really enjoys it. There are pictures of animals and other pictures I can point to and practice saying the words since he’s close to talking himself. At 8 months old, my baby is too young to understand and just wants to chew on the book. From my perspective, the way quarks is explained is well done in a comparison to child’s building blocks and the world around them. I’m looking forward to seeing how my child learns from this book as he gets older and can read it. Not only is it educational, but it's not boring. It is well written with lots of colorful pages and compares quarks with building blocks which is perfect. I've read another Ruth Spiri book (Aerospace Engineering) and was not impressed, but this book makes me want to buy more from her. The book itself is high quality, sturdy, and bright. My children can abuse this book and it will last.
