Sizing is difficult, numbers overlap. I think this item tends to run a little large, I would not buy a size up for this one. Only problem mom had was that it did not give the circumference of the foot opening and the design assumes that if you have a huge calf/ankle you also have a huge foot. The circumference of the arch opening of the sock is quite large on her foot. I purchased a Wide Calf 4xl because she has very large calves. Ankle and calf are fine but the opening at the foot is too big and does not even cling to the foot at all. See images for exact size. Still I recommend these they are well made, and it's not the fault of the sock that mom's legs/feet are not proportionately large. Just use caution if your legs and ankles are large or swollen but your feet are not and don't size up as these do fit according to their chart. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Edema suffers will finally have relief *by A*** on Reviewed in the United States on May 17, 2019* The socks are amazing. I mean just wonderful. I have had two pregnancies in my mid 30's and both resulted in edema. It was extremely painful how tight my skin felt holding all the fluid. In addition I was carrying a growing baby inside of me.I found these and decided to give them a shot...instantly I felt relief. I was able to lift my legs and walk without feeling the heaviness of the edema. And they are so breathable and comfortable. I have large calves so these work out perfect. I am 5'4 which makes they are a bit to long. I am able to fold them over at my toes, and add extra compression in my feet which is a bonus. I live in these things even after now given birth 7 months ago. They just feel so good.My reviews are always meant to be helpful opinions based on my thoughts of this product. I have a 24" calf and these would have been perfect IF it wasn't for the giant toe opening. The toe opening measures 10". To give you an idea...I am no small person... I am a tall, ahem, obese woman at 5'10" tall and 367 lbs and I wear a size 10 women's shoe. The toe opening didn't even touch all parts of my toe/foot area because it kind of just hangs there and wasn't even tight on the rest of the foot. If only compression socks designers/manufacturers would recognize that for women because you have giant calves, doesn't mean your feet are equally as large.
