Timeless: The Complete Story (Seasons 1 & 2 & A Miracle at Christmas) [DVD]

Very entertaining

A phenomenal show that I’m glad got the ending it deserved after its cancellation. I just wish this collection was better. The disc designs are identical to the regular box sets when bought separately, which isn’t a big deal but seems a little lazy. The case itself is brittle plastic and doesn’t feel very durable or high quality, I was hoping for a slipcase design but hey, you buy this set for the dvds themselves, not the case. Overall a great collection, just wish they’d put more care into the case, as £34.99 (price at time of purchase) is a lot for a box set with a plastic case. Would recommend but be careful with the case.

Contains everything; two full series, the festive 2 part finale & some nice deleted scenes & gag reels. We loved watching this over the holidays. Best consumed in quick succession it is like a great adventure novel, with solid characterisation & plot. In this story, everyone grows, even the villains & the time travel through American history mixed with an evil shadow organisation works very well. Brilliant casting, great performances, sparkling script. Its a crime this did not get renewed & we would love to see the heroes further adventures, despite the satisfying ending.

The script seems to have been written by a teenager, maybe a girl with strong romantic tendacies if I'm honest. Nothing wrong with that but it's not what I wanted to watch for my evening's entertainment.I love series or films with a time travel element but this came over as a childish romance. OK it does have some exitement, some historical adventure and action and if you're looking for something easy on the eye and within the comfort zone of your brain and not too taxing this would do.I didn't find the series challenging despite the marvellous concept : a team of our heroes visit famous historical events or people to enable them to 'manipulate' outcomes. They do so to chase down the supposed bad guy who has his own agenda ---- shades of Van Damme's 'Timecop' which was a film with a similar premise complete with a time machine, and I loved it.You can guess the team. Attractive history professor (Abagail Spencer), tough soldier (Matt Lanter) and the token black, pilot and programmer (Malcolm Barrett), all as dull as dishwater and with the usual compelling back stories which means that they're doing this to save someone in their previous lives or similar.The 'bad guy' is played by Goran Visnjic, a Croatian actor who has become a specialist in appearing in awful tv films and tv series as the good looking chap with a foreign accent. I'm finally learning to red flag anything that he's in.The series didn't last long, just two seasons, but they're in this box set together with the finale which is titled 'A Miracle at Christmas'. So there is closure and an extra two stars for that ---- so often a series ends abruptly leaving fans high and dry. I'm not a fan but I appreciate the effort.English subtitles for the hearing impaired on all the episodes thankfully. Yet to watch season 2 and the special but those are my impressions so far.

This is a gripping TV series and I loved every second. Extremely well written and acted. I didn't want it to end.

The timelines are hopelessly illogical. In some episodes it seems we jump into a different timeline, yet in other story lines that ely on the characters left in the present, they do not seem to ‘forget’ the real things that happened in their new past. So the various writers throw any logic out of the equation. That said, the actors are likeable & the characters are engaging. Just do not expect any attempted explanation of how their magical time machine might work!

Watched some of these on TV but missed the early series,so bought the DVDGreat purchase covers both series plus the Christmas special good interest stories and well worth a watch.DVD package is fine with all discs in one box
