I ordered the old model because it was on sale, and selected the titanium one for like a third of retail. What arrived was the brand new model, which is great...Then I noticed the arrangement of the pocket clip. It is decidedly Left-handed. For a lefty, this is a great tool! I love the fact that both the knife blade and the marlin spike can be opened and closed using only one hand.The down side for me is that I'm right-handed when it comes to knives. If Myerchin would change the clip to be ambidextrous, to attach to either side effectively, I would happily give this product all 5 stars that it deserves. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Not bad, but suffers from three major problems. *by T***K on Reviewed in the United States on May 22, 2015* The blade is sharp and made of nice steel. The spike is good, and it's a nice size. However, there are three problems worth noting. First, the stud that limits the closing motion of the blade is positions such that there is a very small amount of the blade tip (about 1/32") still protruding from the frame when then knife is fully closed. It's not enough that you'll stab yourself, but it might get caught on something. Second, the belt clip can't be moved to the other side or the other end of the knife, and where it's positioned makes it very awkward to open the knife for a right-handed person who carries on the right hip. Just have a look at the positioning and make sure you're ok with it first. Third, the frame lock that holds the blade and the spike open isn't machined extremely well, so it can get stuck at the blade and spike and make it impossible to close without another tool to release the frame (this has happened to me already). It's possible that more use and some oil might fix this.That said, it seems to be the only sailing knife out there that has a belt clip, so I guess that means I'm stuck with it. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ GREAT knife for any sailor! *by A***R on Reviewed in the United States on January 26, 2013* Began serious sailing this year and needed to purchase items that would last. This knife is one that can be passed doun that is if you do not loose it. I affixed a 4" cord that attaches to my belt so i would not loose it. Blade is extreamly sharp and the 'marlin spike" comes in handy to undo the knots that are very tight! Sheath is of nylon and has held up to daily use throught the sailing season. Well worth the price.
