Review: An excellent way to play and have fun while learning fractions - Here's a fun and flexible way to learn fractions for kids of all ages. Who doesn't love pizza, right? Kids relate to it because pizza naturally uses fractions. I appreciate a kid-friendly way to teach fractions that's not cake, pie or candy. I'm not a big fan of teaching or playing with desserts because somehow it always leads to the kids wanting candy - the power of suggestion?! Seven game instructions are included, and the possibilities expand from there. When kids play these games, they build a concrete sense of how fractions are parts of a whole, fraction equivalents, addition and subtraction. Pizza naturally lends itself to word problems and everyday application, and there are several problem solving activities included. The pieces are made of a sturdy cardboard and stand up to a good amount of kid use. This is a great way to play and have fun while teaching and reinforcing fractions!
Review: What a great idea! Love, love! - This thing is awesome! I bought it for my 6 year old who is in Kindergarten but the game is made for grades 3-5 (but would work for review with older kids). There are variations for younger folks but not many. My son has been able to play the easiest 3rd grade games so far. With some creativity and basic understanding of math, you could also easily make up your own games as well. There's a spinner and 6 different "boards" the spinner can go on to change the rules for the game. There are several pizzas made from cardboard with realistic pictures of pizza and fractions written on one side. I read one review that said "you cannot even put the pizzas back together after you've taken them apart".... Well, yeah, that's kind of the point. This is a fraction game and it's meant to be put back together temporarily not permanently! It is fun enough though, that the child doesn't know they're learning! The best way to make them learn--make it fun!

## Questions & Answers

**Q: How durable is this game? I own a restaurant and see it fun for kids**
A: The spinner has interchangeable parts for different games. The spinner mechanism could get lost or broken. However, I bet creative kids would enjoy the pizza fractions without actually playing a game as outlined by the rules. In a relatively unsupervised situation, I would guess you would lose pieces over time. However, the pizza pieces are quite durable.

**Q: Are you able to teach finding a common denominator with this?**
A: You could i guess but its more about finding equivalent fractions

**Q: Where are the instructions?**
A: The instructions are inside the box.

**Q: “There are two learning resources pizza fun game one called junior and the other with no junior (all 6+) whats the difference?”**
A: Junior is smaller (8" vs about 11" pizzas) with fewer pieces. I have the regular game and I believe it had 1/9 and 1/16 as well which Jr. doesn't seem to have. For almost the same price, I'd recommend getting the regular unless it's for traveling use - more fractions and more fun, especially since it's about the size of a regular pizza vs a personal size one!
