I used an existing dedicated 20 Amp receptacle in my garage. I removed the gfci receptacle and made the box into a junction box. I then ran 12/2 wire from the junction box outside to an In-Use water resistant covered 20 amp receptacle, right next to the existing 30 amp receptacle. Both male ends of this adapter were able to plug into a covered water resistant receptacle. I had previously turned off everything in the rv. I connected the plug end of the adapter to the male plug end of the rv. I then turned on all things in the rv. It works perfectly.
