It can be washed and the Velcro does not lose its functionality at all, which was an issue I had with several other brands of belts. It’s adjustable for smaller waists and really protects and supports my lower back while I’m exercising and active, without slipping up or down, remaining attached even when I’m doing a lot of moving and stretching. This is my 2nd one...bought it to have a backup while my first is in the wash. I may buy a 3rd to keep at work. I’m using these every day and I no longer have spasms because of a wrong twist. Also it doesn’t add much heat to my mid-section. I can’t say it doesn’t add any...it does add some heat esp while I’m moving a lot...but not as much heat/sweat as other belts out there I have tried.
