It is a little heavier than the synthetic version and while there is some padding, it's not as soft on the shoulder as some synthetic versions. But this is still comfortable enough AND I don't have to worry about my camera falling to the ground if a plastic buckle breaks. It looks really nice and has nice stitching. It has camera body protectors at the connection point to prevent scratches on your camera. Has solid buckles and attachments. I had read a review and don't know if it's accurate, but said the attachment rings were "brittle" I didn't test that, but I wanted to have a more stock-looking diamond-type of ring and changed them out- in my handling them, they seemed fine.
