Product description

Review: Really Does Work, INCREDIBLE! - Where do I start? Well my furniture is 17 years old, High end leather, but to be honest, like so many of us, I wasn't one to do reg cleaning and maintenance on it after it got older. The arm rests especially, and the seat cushions had really taken a beating. The leather was rough and starting to show signs of cracking and the leather itself had faded. It looked hideous to me and always covered the cushions with a blanket. My plan was to just buy new furniture as I thought there was no hope in refurbishing the leather or color. Well let me tell you, I came across this product on desertcart, and I thought, what the heck, the reviews looked great, so I thought I would try it. I wish I would have taken photos of before and after, because it HONESTLY looks like the before and after on the label!.. Following the instructions, I cleaned the leather with the Furniture Clinic cleaner, then followed with the Furniture Clinic Conditioner. I used the cleaner on the soiled areas, the arm rests and the cushions, but condtioned the entire seating area. ( the rest of the loveseat leather was still like new as far as suppleness). I then applied the Re-Coloring Balm and OMG, what a transformation. I started on the arm rests, cushions and attached back pillows. I HONESTLY couldn't believe how it worked!.. The areas that had the worst wear and damage, sucked up the product, This didn't scare me as I really didn't have anything to lose if it ended up looking like crap lol. Directions say to let dry for 5 mins and buff... I kept reapplying to the arm rests and seat cushions and each time I reapplied, I could feel the difference in the leather..The rough texture started to disappear and the dark wear look in those areas disappeared!. I left it sit overnite. I woke up this morning and could not believe the difference in the way the loveseat looks and feels!.. The leather is about 90% MORE supple and visibly, it looks incredible!..My husband got up this morning and could not believe the transformation. He said it looked almost new!. I plan on applying the conditioner to the arms and cushions one more time before lightly buffing, and will continue to conditon every other day to really soften up those areas. I can't stress enough how bad of shape this loveseat was in before and what a transformation this product has made so far!.. The leather is no longer "scratchy and dry looking".. I will see how this holds up and update this post. JUST a couple of things to note:, The Directions on the coloring do not really say how to apply, so at first I started applying with a cloth, but the cloth absorbs too much of the product, so I used my fingertips and it slid on effortlessly and didn't need much product at all. You can use rubber gloves but I didn't, and the color washed right off with soap and water. Yes, rub it in a circular motion and in the areas that are bad, use the wax on wax off motion lol. I used about a half of a jar on the loveseat, so if applied with fingers, it will go a long way! I believe what this product is, is a Tinted conditioner, which makes sense, and a good one. The molecules are obviously small enough to penetrate the leather, so that the tint and the condtioner is absorbed completely. ( that is the MOST important part). I just wish I would have taken before and after photos! I AM ordering more to have on hand for future use! UPDATE: It's been 2 weeks now and my one and only application. Color still looks great, no scratches thru the color even with the dogs jumping up on the loveseat. Color has NOT rubbed off onto anything.!! After reading alot of negative reviews, I have come to the conclusion that those people have applied the product to something OTHER than REAL leather!. DO THE ABSORBTION TEST BEFORE PURCHASING!. REAL LEATHER WILL absorb the water drop instantly!. anything other than leather will NOT. Those people who have used it on something other than REAL leather, may have a bit of color stain ONTOP of their fabric, but it will NOT absorb. THIS IS WHY it WILL rub off or fade early on.!
Review: Amazing Product! Saved a Curb Find🤩 - I grabbed this West Elm leather Axel sofa from the curb. It had several discolored areas but I was determined to save it! I do a decent amount of furniture rehabbing but not much experience with leather. Luckily I found this product! I bought a few different colors and the camel was a very close match. For reference, my comparison top/before photo had different lighting. I did not apply the balm to the back cushions. If your piece is in the color range of any of my photos, camel should be a good match. I’d consider it a light-medium brown with yellow undertones. I first applied to a section hidden by the cushions to test out the color match and saturation of pigment. It is brutally cold here so I applied in my living room. I did not notice any strong odors. The left seat square got 2 thin coats and I applied a bit more to the lighter areas of the large discolored spot. I applied a very thin coat on the right seat to help hide light scratches and blend with the original color. Another thin coat might be needed to get to the richness of the left side. I think the photo exaggerates the subtle difference. The sponge applicator that was provided worked well. Use the gloves even if you think it’ll be a quick, clean job. It will end up on your fingertips, at minimum. I did use a small, soft art paint brush to apply precisely to the lighter areas to build up the color a bit. I could probably even it out more, but there is risk that I make the darker areas worse so I am stopping. I used a microfiber cloth (not provided) to buff the treated areas about 15 minutes after applying. Very little product was on the cloth and that was with me trying to remove some in the darker areas of the seat stain. Hopefully over time it will even out a bit more with use. I am debating applying leather cpr to condition the entire couch because I have read other reviewers mention that it removed the balm. I will test it in a hidden area to see how it reacts first. Tread slowly if you decide to do this step. Learn from my mistakes. I applied acetone to the left seat cushion trying to remove the original finish intending to restain the whole thing. That was an awful idea all around. I wish I had found this product before that step. I think it would have turned out even better. I believe the larger spot near the front middle of the seat absorbed the product unevenly because I removed the original finish and roughed up the leather in that area. Prep is key to an optimal outcome. I was able to remove the white paint on the left arm. I do not think this product would have camouflaged it very well. If you have marks similar, definitely try to remove any residue before application. Unfortunately I do not remember which method worked for me but I tried a few simple suggestions I found online. I cleaned all of the leather with saddle soap a few weeks prior to application. If you’re unsure of what color to choose, I recommend purchasing any that are close and comparing to your leather. I simply placed the bottles on their sides on the arm of the couch and chose the closest match. There was a drastic difference between them. You likely do not need to open the other jar/s and can return. I also knew that I could mix colors, but luckily I did not need to. Just keep in mind, if you mix colors you’ll want to make more than you think you’ll need so you don’t end up mixing more and not getting the same result. The jar on the far left of my product photos is from another brand in the color tan, 10 oz. It is more orange and darker than this camel but not as red as the tan of this brand. My product photos were taken in the evening with no natural light and I think they look a bit darker and more orange than they actually are. Bottom image in first pic is closest to actual (on my screen, anyway). I hope that helps! Don’t be afraid to give it a try! I tried a different color and brand prior to this one and it was too red. I was able to remove it with a damp cloth. I do think this brand dried better and is more durable than the other, as well. Good luck!

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can I use this on the fading color on my leather furniture**
A: YES! Just try to get color as close as you can to what you have or go darker. Works great... I always put on in a circular motion and let dry for an hour, then take a clean cloth (I used an old towel) and rub if off like your buffing a car. Then I wait another few hours and take another cloth and again rub. If you don't you may find that this color will get onto you clothing and stain. I have used this over and over again with that process and have never had a problem on my clothes. It takes time but well worth it. I almost threw away two leather chairs and now I have them in my library... Like new!

**Q: Need to restore color to a leather recliner and sectional. Will one jar work, or more?**
A: Hello,Thank you for your inquiry regarding our Leather Re-Coloring Balm which is a product used to renovate the existing color of absorbent type leathers i.e (leather without a finish on top). One jar of our Leather Re-Coloring Balm will restore color to a three piece set. If you need any further assistance, please contact us at our email help@furnitureclinic.comBest,Furniture ClinicCustomer ServiceWe look forward to hearing from you.Best,Furniture ClinicCustomer Service

**Q: Is it necessary to use a cleaner or deglazer prior to trreatment?**
A: Hello Deniece,Thank you for your inquiry. Our Leather Re-Coloring Balm is used to renovate the existing color of absorbent type leathers (i.e. leathers without a finish on them). To determine the absorbency of your leather, we ask to perform out Water Test. To do this, simply place one or two drops of water onto the surface of your leather. If the water beads up on the surface or rolls off, that indicates that you have a finish on your leather deeming it non-absorbent. If the water immediately absorbs into the leather, that indicates that you have an absorbent type leather. Our Leather Re-Coloring Balm will become 100% colorfast on absorbent type leathers. In regards to cleaning your leather before use, we highly recommend using our Leather Ultra Clean to clean your leather before applying our Leather Re-Coloring Balm. In regards to a deglazer, if you have a finish on your leather, you cannot remove the finish off your leather and then apply our Leather Re-Coloring Balm. If you have a finish on your leather, you would need alternative products for a non-absorbent type leather. If you need any further assistance, please contact us at our email help@furnitureclinic.com.Best,Furniture ClinicCustomer Service

**Q: we have leather chairs that are beige to medium tan. I would like to use the red... will it work?**
A: I would ask the company. I used navy blue on navy blue leather it worked great.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works great!
*by M***Y on January 19, 2026*

This stuff is great for keeping my leather recliners looking good. They are used frequently by small grandchildren and scuffs are commonplace but this cleaner/restorer buffs them off well. The only downside is side is the jar size. Once you get the compound about 1/2 used, it is hard to get the sponge down inside without getting it all over your hands. Making the container shorter but with a larger diameter cylinder would solve that problem.
