I had no idea that my sticks would spend 80% of their time on the roof, so I shudder to think how I would have used a traditional top-opening enclosure without losing sticks every time I opened it. - The doors are very secure but easy to open. - To my knowledge, no nymphs (c. 1.5") were able to get behind the backdrop, though I can see how one might be concerned; I filled the substrates a bit higher to ensure nobody could get down and behind, but mine was very well-fitted and high quality. - The size is honestly a fair bit larger than I expected it to be (I was envisioning it -- incorrectly -- as going to be about the size of a small "betta bowl" but square, and this is fantastically larger, not so "nano" at all. - This is an excellent choice, because of the verticality, for arboreal creatures. My daughter had an arboreal tarantula, so the 'tall' terrarium worked very well. But for a terrestial tarantula I'd go with a longer, shorter terrarium. **Q: How many inches tall is the glass in between the feet of the terrarium and the front vents?** A: I measured on the outside of terrarium. It measured 1.5" from bottom of glass to the vents on the trim below the opening door. Hope this helps. **Q: Would this be good for hermit crabs?** A: No, you need at the very least a 10 gallon for a small hermit. Add another 10-15 for each subsequent hermit depending on size. You also need substrate going up at least 3/4 of the tank since it will settle, the door makes it impossible to house a hermit. I highly suggest going to the page Hermit Crab Owners on Facebook. They are not beginner pets by any means. **Q: Is this good for a chemleaon** A: It would be good for a baby chameleon.
