SCAM. Do not waste your money.

*by H***H on Reviewed in the United States on April 12, 2019*

All of these so-called workbooks by Max Help Books are nothing short of a scam. They are not authorized or written by the author of the book under review. They are very brief, poorly written summaries of the book that contain grammatical and syntactical errors. Not edited, not really a workbook, but they simply ask you basic questions to think about. It is totally apparent what Max Help Books is trying to do - get consumers to believe that the actual author of the book also wrote a comprehensive workbook to increase your understanding. It's a total manipulation and, as it turns out, Max Help Books with writer Dan Young (who by the way you cannot find anywhere. No contact information, no address, no real publisher, nothing!) creates dozens of these so-called workbooks for dozens of different books and then sells them to distributors on-line for a huge profit. Please do NOT waste your time. Amazon and other sellers need to review the products they are selling. Dan Young and Max Help Books ought to be ashamed of themselves for manipulating. Don't believe me? Look for yourself and then tell me what you think. It's a scam and I stand by what I say. Problems? Contact me at hughsimonich@yahoo.com

    Shameless ripoff

*by D***E on Reviewed in the United States on April 8, 2020*

A crass, minimal-effort attempt to cash in on a popular book. It's a pamphlet, not a workbook -- literally less than 20 pages of substantive, often inaccurate text, written at a 3rd-grade level in huge typeface by someone with a shaky command of the English language, padded out with a handful of superficial, obvious and un-useful questions and lots of blank pages. Example "bonus quiz question" from the workbook: "True or False - Johann Hari was born in Glasgow, Scotland. Shortly after he moved to Paris with his parents." This is an .actual. question from the workbook. By the way, the answer from the answer key is "False!" because Hari moved to London, not Paris. I wish I was making this up. This is a shameless ripoff and the fact that the author allowed his name to be used in connection with it destroys any respect I formerly had for his work.

Do NOT waste your money!! More expensive than the book it claims to supplement. Shame!

*by K***K on Reviewed in the United States on April 11, 2019*

The "author" is obviously capitalizing on Johann Hari's amazing book "Lost Connections". "Workbook" means actual work. This is a pamphlet with large letters and big spacing thrown together to prey on people looking for help. It's a joke that the note in the front says it's an "analytical review." AND it's more expensive than the hardcover of "Lost Connections" which has actual information!!! Go buy the real book and "Mind Over Mood" for an actual workbook. I will never buy anything from Max "Help" "Books" again and am returning this ASAP. The publisher and author should feel ashamed putting their name on this garbage. I could write more words in this review than the $13.92 I paid, but I won't waste anymore time. Better angry than depressed I suppose.
