They were very slightly snug on arrival but true to size for wearing without socks. I have wide foot and while they weren’t roomy, they had adequate room. Within an hour they had broken in a little and fit just right.I don’t see them lasting too long, a season maybe, but they aren’t athletic shoes for hiking or all day walking. They’re a comfortable shoe for knocking around on weekends or laid back days at the beach. Again, for the price they’re made well and look like espadrilles are supposed to.I also like that they fold flat and come with a zippered bag. Easy to pack for a weekend trip.All feet are different but I didn’t experience any problems some others have mentioned like the heel not staying secure to my foot. They don’t have any arch support or cushioning so think of them like close toe sandals.There are better espadrilles but not in this price range and they’re better than some I’ve paid more for. I’ll be buying another pair or two. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great every day espadrilles. *by K***R on Reviewed in the United States on September 5, 2016* Rather strange questions for Espadrilles. Pertinent to regular shoes and boots but by their nature, espadrilles have no arch support, are generally not offered in widths. I just wish the size was provided in the European sizes as well as US generic sizes since all my life I have been buying them in Europe and I would like to know that I am buying here the same size I have been wearing in Europe. But these espadrilles are very much like the ones I have been buying and wearing in Europe since the mid 1950's. What I do like with these is the elastic set into the top of the foot which allows for a bit of give. If you want the espadrilles to take to the shape of your feet, just put them on, stand in water long enough to soak the uppers and lowers, then wear them until the dry and they will dry around the shape of your foot. I actually push down the backs and wear them as slip ons. As such they make good slippers. French workers would wear these all day in the south of France as slip ons so when they entered a house, they would slip them off to keep street soil from bring brought into the house. Or some would slip these on when entering the house and would leave their street shoes outside. Rather thoughtful and civilized. ### ⭐ YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR *by J***N on Reviewed in the United States on July 1, 2020* The purchase of espadrilles was extremely disappointing.To begin, their is no support. When walking I came completely out of the shoe. No support, poor material, etc.Inside, front to back was very narrow.NOT A WELL MADE SHOE!My size of 9 1/2, is always THE size. These are advertised 9 to 9 1/2, which prompted me to think "maybe I shouldorder a 7?" If I did that the shoe would have fallen off.A long story short? The shoes are in the trash. You ( Amazon ) should subtract this company as a merchant.I should have known better. We get what you pay for.I purchased these while on a Amazon Prime trial, which since has expired.
