I bought more of my favorite types of knives instead, and this block was perfect for storing them. 2 years later I started to find that my knives weren’t sliding in all the way and were actually posing a danger as they got all top-heavy and could fall out. Over time the rods got bent and contorted from my knives pushing them in which caused the space to be much tighter. I was able to remove the rod insert and clip down a bunch of the bent rods. Some came out easily on their own as well.
