Not sure why people say made in Hawaii, but my pair has 'Made in China' printed right inside of the strap. **Q: Are they ok to use in water?** A: the leather ones are not. They are not water proof/resistant and get very slippery when wet. **Q: What is the difference between the Mea Ola and Kulia?** A: The Mea Ola is rich premium full grain leather **Q: Do these come with the Olukai warranty?** A: Yes. It is one year. The toe thong is made out of leather and not particularly strong. Mine broke a little after one year. They would not warranty it, nor do they have the facility to repair these $125 sandals, so I was out of luck. The thong part that supports the strap is about the diameter and strength of rawhide laces. Water damages them, so wear at garden parties only.
