They are wrong.Go up a size, if you are between sizes go up two. This is an excellent vest. I wanted to point out a few things. First, the material is a thick woven fabric. Unlike most vests the back is the same material as the front. There are no pockets on this vest, instead it has flaps designed to resemble pockets. I think that's a problem but I won't deduct a star for it. I'm apparently in the minority when it comes to using vest pockets.I wear a vest without a jacket to help me look professional at the office. This vest is a welcome addition to my wardrobe. As many reviewers have stated, these are nice vests, well made out of good quality material (better than expected, actually, due to the low price), however they do run slightly small. My husband generally wears an XXL in sport shirts and t-shirts, and a 50" jacket; he wears 38" waist pants; he prefers traditional fit to slim fit in his clothing. The XXL was tight across his chest - it buttoned, but was snug and pulled slightly. The XXXL, on the other hand, was huge - we ended up returning the XXL and keeping the XXXL - once fully cinched in back, the XXXL vest fit him fine. The "pockets" have the flaps only - there is no actual vest pocket. If we were to order another, we would probably send in custom measurements to ensure a perfect fit. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Nice piece, even without pockets and small sizing. *by B***N on Reviewed in the United States on September 1, 2016* Just because it's coming straight from China--and seemingly straight from the tailor who makes them--doesn't mean it will be a weak material or bad stitching. This vest is very sharp, seemingly well constructed and a decent length (which can be an issue with vests). The one major drawback is that there are no pockets inside or out, and that the Asian version of sizes runs small. You can actually order this tailored to a very specific size, but I kind of wonder what the results would be.I purchased one that I believed would be way too big even on my frame. I take a size 54R suit and it will have room to spare. I take a 19-34/35 shirt and it can still move. This vest was supposed to be 56" chest / 50" waist. No, I have not gained weight but lost a little and the vest is stiff and snug around my frame. It is not uncomfortable, but it is also not the swimming and covering fabric garment I thought it would be.The button appear stiffly sewn on and almost too hard to button up. This is a pro and con, obviously. The outer material appears soft in pictures but really is the consistency of older-generation living room drapes. The inner material is more silky and black.So I approve of this vest as an amateur collector of them, but you should know what you are getting into.
