It must be wound to start it and it must be wound 2 or 3 times a day to keep it going. It will not keep running even if it is placed on a watch winder. It looks good, and it keeps excellent time but it isn't even a functioning straight mechanical movement since it requires winding at least 2 to 3 times a day.
