As a result I have posterior tibial tendinitis which has caused ankle pain and swelling. I have tried other non-custom inserts including Superfeet (too rigid) and Protalus - not bad and did make me realize the need for an insert to realign my feet. But from the moment I put these in my shoes I knew I had found what I needed. They are comfortable and support my foot well, but don’t make me feel like I have a rock under my arch. I have one that likes to turn in on me and these have kept my foot straight. They seem to be training my foot back where it belongs. I've had terrible pain in that hip and wearing these have helped with that also. I like that I can put them in any of the my shoes except open sandals! I just bought a size close to my shoe size, although I did have to do a little trimming. To me it wasn't a big deal to trim a bit when my feet quit hurting while using them.
