The fact that it deflates is a bonus. I thought it was a little difficult/awkward to inflate due to placement of the valve. After takeoff we inflated it. Initially as she was falling asleep I used it as a foot rest for one of my feet so I could cradle her. Once she was asleep I moved it directly under her seat and she slept in fetal position. Was very convenient, particularly as the air pump was included. A little heavy to pack in a carry on but worth it for an hour of peace, as any traveling parent can appreciate.
