I had hoped it was going to be comparable to the finer spice mix I used in Morocco. This mix is very rough and I think I will have to grind it more to use it as a rub or in a tagine. Their spice blends have always been excellent. Smokey Bean Seasoning is my favourite spice as I use a lot of dried beans in my cooking rather than canned ones and this very mild but ultra smokey blend is the best accompaniment to put in a home-made sauce for your beans you will find. It starts subtle and grows - but not in 'true' spice heat, it is gentle and warming [add a pinch of cayenne if you want to up the heat]. and it is also an excellent 'dry rub' for flavouring up steaks for the BBQ, goes great with chicken or some fatty pork chops. Frankly when it comes to pork in particular this blend is sublime and a perfect compliment.I had no idea they were now selling on Amazon as I thought they closed down when the shop closed! Delighted to find them again after a couple of years. Natures Kitchen is THE best 'fresh spice blend' supplier going. I am going to be placing a good many orders now to rebuild a spice cupboard that became empty without this wonderful tangy 'old friend' of a proper 'spice merchant' to fill it.Smokey Bean Seasoning though is my favourite 'mild' spice blend....EVER.
