After researching the net, most people recommended cleaning or replacing the IAC valve. At the price of this item, I figured why spend time cleaning? It took no more than 15 minutes to replace it. I needed a 1/4" ratchet, 10mm and 8mm sockets, an 8" long flathead screwdriver, a step stool (I'm only 5'-10"), and most of all patience. Removed the plastic shield over the TB, then CAREFULLY accessed/removed the two machine screws holding the IAC valve, being sure NOT to damage the cruise control linkage or any hoses in the area. The electrical connector needed the screwdriver to press the latch and release, as it's a little difficult to access with my hand. I was able to carefully pull the connector/cable out long enough to attach it to the new IAC valve. This product conveniently comes with a new gasket -- the most difficult thing is to hold the new IAC valve + gasket in place while threading the machine screws back in, just be patient. Once secured, the vehicle started up easily, and I idled it for a couple of minutes -- no hum at all now. Of course, as with any product, time will tell. However, so far I'm very satisfied with the form/fit/function of this IAC valve. ### ⭐⭐ No Spring *by C***N on Reviewed in the United States on May 4, 2021* This part does not have the spring on the plunger like the original Ford IAC for a 2001 expedition 5.4L Triton. This did not work properly on my vehicle, even though it fit. ### ⭐⭐⭐ All good *by B***B on Reviewed in the United States on July 9, 2020* I had to return this item. For some reason my truck did not run right with it.
