The M (40-42) would be fine for me in the chest and upper body but would be too tight at the hem (I'm a 36" waist), Staying with the fit, it is not as tailored as the pictures would have you believe, it doesn't cinch in above the pockets as shown in the pictures, but nothing a cartridge belt won't solve there. I've marked it as "fits as expected" as I anticipated by going 42-44 I would have a bit more room in the chest.On the subject of cartridges, the waist pockets are not bellows pockets, so don't be expecting to carry anything more than a few empty cartridges in them.
