**Q: Why do they make sure there's no zinc in the wick but then coat the wick tab in zinc?**
A: The science we’ve seen raises health concerns about burning metal-core wicks and volatilizing that metal, especially lead, as a toxin in the air we breath. Because the wick clips do not burn, and in fact stop combustion as soon as the wick reaches the clip, we believe the risk of toxicity is virtually non-existent. **Q: Is the cotton chemical-free and are pesticides used on the pollen source? Why is a paper-cotton blend used, and is the paper bpa free?**
A: Bluecorn's wicks are always cotton or a blend of paper and cotton (depending on the ideal burn temperature of a particular batch of beeswax). We do use bleached cotton in our wicks as we have yet to find a source of unbleached cotton wicks in the style and volume needed. We never use traditional zinc or lead-core wicks. Our wick bases are flat-rolled steel with a zinc coating. We use hundreds of different kinds of wicks and are constantly test burning to make sure wick and wax are a perfect match for the particular candle type. We source only premium quality cappings beeswax, which is harvested as a sustainable part of honey production. Our beeswax is not organic, as there are very few sources of Certified Organic Beeswax. CO Beeswax is financially unsustainable for candle making and often disappointing in color. We lightly filter our pure beeswax to remove any particulate and deliver a gorgeous, reliable burn. **Q: Why is the price cheaper if you buy them without the poly container?**
A: Our prices are based on factors beyond the poly up. Therefore, the price is the same (not cheaper in any case) regardless of the tea light being in or out of a cup.

**Q: what are the wicks made of?**
A: Either pure cotton or a cotton paper blend. No lead or zinc.

I wanted to get away from using paraffin candles, so I tried Bluecorn Naturals beeswax tealights. These smell great and last at least 4 hours. My first order was Bluecorn tealights in metal cups and I was very pleased. So I decided to stop generating extra waste (the used metal cups) and I purchased these cup-less tealights. I burn them in an empty metal cup leftover from the previous order.These tealights seem to have more wax than the tealights in the metal cups. The burntime is a little longer too, plus the burn is complete with no wax left.I will definitely order these again.

I love love love using beeswax candles, these seemed to be great quality and have that light, natural honey scent. ( I usually light one tealight in the evening) a package of 24 will last me about a month this way.
