I was a little skeptical since the photo did not show "Tramontina made in Brazil" on the blade. However, the wording is engraved on the side not shown in the photo. I wanted this particular knife because we have a set of 12 that we have been using for years that are beginning to wear and become a little dull. This is the sharpest steak knife I have ever used. It is much better than heavier more expensive knives. They never need sharpening and last for years with daily use.
