All the controls seemed happy but pressing the play button resulted in nothing. Not even an error on the display! Taking the top off the unit (simple, 2 screws) showed the issue - a broken belt. So, I looked up some product videos and discovered that while it's a bit of a chore to replace the belt (you have to practically take the whole machine apart), it's straightforward and certainly much cheaper than grabbing a new machine.Disassembly was easy. I was surprised at how simple a modern dryer really is!Of course the old belt was broken, so no issue removing that. The existing idler pulley was a bit of a chore to remove - they must use some threadlocker or something on it. I easily stripped the phillips portion and had to use a set of vice grips to remove the screw which moved easily. The existing (OEM) pulley still rotated but nowhere near as easily as the new unit - like night and day. I could have likely still used the old one, but that just adds more tension to the belt and work for the motor. Don't forget to give the unit a good vacuuming as certainly there will certainly be a fair about of fuzz inside the cabinet.Getting the belt threaded back on took a bit of effort but I found a straightforward way to do it. Replace the idler pulley and also the tub. Put the belt around the tub roughly where the old one was (should be easy to see a wear line on the tub from the old belt), making sure the ribbed portion faces the tub. Rather than trying to muscle the pulley with the belt around it then stretch the belt over the motor shaft, instead put the belt around the motor shaft and then pull the idler back and force the belt over it. It tried several times the first way, then got the belt on the first try when using the second method. Just be sure to keep the drum seated on the top of the black rollers. You will tension the idler when you lift the drum up to install the front support piece.Just a warning the belt will be VERY tight - as in the idler is basically at the top of its movement. Realize though that over time the belt will stretch and loosen up a bit.All-in-all a great value of the money, let's see how long it lasts. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars It's better than I expected *by L***S on Reviewed in the United States on June 15, 2022* I recently had an incident where I was drying a load of clothes when suddenly I heard a loud bang. The clothes dryer drum stopped turning. I went to YouTube and was able to determine that my belt had broken. So back to YouTube to see how complicated the fix would be. There were really great videos on my exact dryer and it was something I could do.I went online and found from the site that had produced the video that the belt alone was $44.00. I decided to checkout Amazon since one of the videos referenced this product. So when checked it out it was $18.00. So without hesitation I bought it. Then maybe I better look at th reviews. All the recent reviews are 5 star but I want to see the negative reviews. So I go way back and it seemed that there was an issue with the belt being 88 inches and 90 inches. So I measure me belt and it's 92 inches. Based on my research the belt was supposed to be 92 inches. So now I am in a panic will it work.I go to a number of sites using the manufacturer product number and find belts being sold that are 88 inches 90 inches 92 inches and 93 inches. Now I am really freaked out. So I order 1 that is 92 inches. I need to get my dryer working.Got the package a few hours ago and the first thing I did was to measure the belt. You know what it was 92 inches long. It fit perfectly and works like a charm. I am keeping the idler arm and the extra belt for possible future use. This is a very good product.
