The clip arrives fully assembled there is no assembly required before use. To insert your stack of cards, just pull the panels apart on the long side which does not have the thumb groove cut in it, and no elastic band. Insert your cards in between the layers to create your wonderful carbon fiber, aircraft aluminum, cards, aircraft aluminum, carbon fiber sandwich! :-) When you need access to a card, simply push the stack via the thumb hole out slightly at an angle, thumb through to the one you need, slide it out, pay the man, re-insert, re-square the stack. I decided to try this to cut down on the clutter and I'm happy I did. It doesn't fit all the crap I had in my old wallet, but just the stuff I need. It didn't come with instructions, the screws were about impossible at times to unscrew. You'll then realize you don't need to do that I guess because it finally opened with all the screws secure. It sure could use a tutorial or something. Some of my cars edges have been a bit messed up trying to shove them back in the wallet, but still usable. Other than that I really like it and will never go back to a regular bulky wallet. I feel my pocket from time to time to make sure my wallet is there and freak out thinking I left it at home or lost it. I then remember I have a tiny wallet now. I'm sure I'll get used to it soon enough and stop checking for my big wallet. :) I researched a few different ones and this one sure had some great reviews and a great price.
