It's water repellent nature is as advertised and it is very warm. The size of fit is spot on. I'm 6'1", 220lbs, and wear a 46" suit jacket and the XL fits well. I button the side straps to make it more narrow around the mid-section so if you're larger around the mid just leave the straps unsnapped. Some additional thoughts: the side hand pocket opening is small, I wear XL gloves and the opening is tight for my hands; the outside front snap pockets are small as well, an iPhone X will not fit in it.
