There is normally a string coming out of the area where you insert batteries. When first time putting in batties, you may have to pull that string to open the latch. But it is unusual to hear the battery cover is not coming off. Reached out again and no response again. Chatted with an Amazon agent that kept telling me that the replacement window closed and I should contact the original seller or manufacturer after I told them three times that I had already done that.
