My interpretation of the TSA rule is: you can carry on The power bank, but you should NOT put it into your checked baggage **Q: Has anyone owned this for over a year and can say it still works?** A: Worked great when I got it, made it to almost a year then like many others on here it stopped working. And charge cycles from completely drained was maybe 1 or 2, and remainder were used to about 30-50% and recharged, total of probably 16-24 times total. **Q: Will this charge a kindle paperwhite** A: Yes you can charge any devices......I think it's kind of a slow charger and the cable that came with it is already broken... **Q: Does the power button actually turn off the battery? Or does it stay on if there's a phone/etc still connected to it?** A: There is not really a power button except to show you the amount of charge in the battery. If you plug something in, it charges. When you unplug it stops. I use mine mostly for hunting. I charged it in January, left it in my hunting bag. Pulled it out a week ago and still had 100% charge. When the power bank full, I can charge my phone like 4-5 times with 100 percent. Also, the power bank is smaller compared to other power bank, and it's great for traveling. The power should hold many charges. It took a few hours to completely charge the charger, but it charges devices at regular speed. When charging, the light flashes different colors. The button shows how charged it is when it’s not plugged in. Charging cable it comes with is USB to micro USB I believe, so easy to get a replacement. I was surprised it didn’t get warm while charging. Can’t wait to decorate it with washi tape!Update: over a year later, and this still works well! Doesn't hold a charge as long as it did out of the box, but it can still hold a little over 1 phone charge and unused will last for about a week in my bag. (When I first got it, it would last unused for a month and could charge my phone 3-5 times). It was a waste of my money. I bought to travel with it abroad in May. Unfortunately I did not test it until I finally got to travel in July. When I arrived in my destination country, it worked well initially, only once. When I tried to recharge again, a green light came and never went away. That was even before it started charging. So I could tell if it had fully charged. After 3 hours, I unplugged it and tried to use, but it never worked. I was away for 45days and only got to use it in the first week of my trip. Unfortunately, when I checked out of the hotel, I forgot it there. The hotel has kept it for me and will be traveling back in December to pick it up.In all honesty, I wasted my money. I could have been unlucky and got a lemon, but I wouldn't recommend anyone wasting their money on this power bank. Buy a cheap one from your local Walmart.I wish the seller could send me a courtesy replacement even if its of lesser value.
